"HTHL" Concept for Space Launches

Ahhh..Saturday morning link chasing while updating computers nearby.. Horizontal Takeoff, Horizontal Landing (HTHL) for the "1st Stage" of the launch process from Andrews Space. I found this at the bottom of an article discussing the FAA's Environmental Impact Report for a spaceport in Oklahoma...(which is interesting in itself to read). Andrews Space has developed a hybrid jet/rocket powered aircraft, the Gryphon, that collects oxygen for the rocket fuel while on it's way to launch altitude using the Andrews Alchemist™ ACES propulsion system. Certainly this has a wide range of low cost options..... Here's a link to a video of the concept: Quicktime Windows Media H/T to Transterrestrial Musings.
